John F. Doody

John (Jack) Francis Doody died peacefully on April 14, 2024 at his home in Ellicott City, MD.

Jack was born on December 20, 1946 in Hinsdale, Illinois. After graduating from St. Procopius High School in Lisle, Illinois, he went on to attend and graduate from St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. 

On November 15, 1980 he married Terese Catherine (Goff) Doody, going on to have two children, Kathleen and Michael.  

After retiring, Jack spent his time attending his grandchildren’s activities, playing golf, telling his usual jokes, and giving words of wisdom to younger generations. He adored his grandchildren, Joseph (11) and Christopher (7) Doody and Tess (8) and Cora (7) Walch. He will be sorely missed, and is remembered by leaving fulfilling memories, laughter, and joy.

He is survived by Michael and Kathleen (Doody) Walch of Ellicott City, Maryland, and Michael and Lauren (Cozza) Doody of Valley Cottage, New York, four grandchildren Tess and Cora Walch and Joey and Chris Doody, his sister, Susan (Doody) Griffith of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and his brother, Thomas and Caroline (Ware) Doody, of Mission Viejo, California. He is presided by his wife Terese, his mother and father Thomas and Catherine (McCafferty) Doody, and brother Michael Doody.

A memorial service and celebration of life will take place in the summer of 2024. Additional details will be shared once finalized.
