Connie Elaine Myers, 77, of Ellicott City, Maryland, passed away on August 9, 2019 after a valiant battle with kidney cancer.
Connie was the eldest daughter of Reverend June Page Greene and Agnes Bonkemeyer Greene, born in Asheboro, North Carolina. Growing up she enjoyed running around outside barefoot, eating traditional southern food prepared by her Mama and spending time with animals. She attended various North Carolina schools as her family moved around when her father was assigned to different churches. After graduating from Ruffin High School in 1960, where she had been a cheerleader, she attended High Point College. In college, she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and editor of the yearbook her senior year.
After college, she married and moved to Catonsville, Maryland. Her first job was teaching English at Catonsville High School. She continued her teaching career in Howard County at Clarksville Middle School. Then, she took time off from teaching when she had her children. Connie returned to work for one year as a substitute teacher and then as a Special Education Instructional Assistant at Patapsco Middle School for more than 20 years, until she retired.
Connie was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Thomas R. Myers; sons- Thomas (wife - Annette) and Michael (wife - Julia); and her grandchildren- Paige, Holly, Sammy (Gabriel), and Hayden.
In addition, she is survived by her brother Richard A. Greene (wife - Glenda Greene, nee: Grant) and her sister Alese Greene Reams; nieces- Jessi Reams Sensabaugh (husband - Sam Sensabaugh) and Page Reams; and great niece Rosie Fore.
