Donald Douglas Manning, 82, of Ellicott City, Maryland passed away on Saturday, December 8th, 2018. He was born June 24th, 1936, to Hector Donald Manning and Dorothy Irene Manning in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated with honors in 1953 from Woburn High, in Woburn, Massachusetts. He also graduated from Tufts University in 1958 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and in 1976 with a Master’s degree in Engineering from George Washington University. He was past chairman of the Howard County Republican Central Committee, a leader and manager in the Howard County Youth Program in the 1970's and 1980's, and a long time Howard County Election Judge. He worked for Westinghouse Corp. and associated subsidiary companies for many decades, starting from 1958 as an engineer and managing engineer, and in that capacity traveled to and worked in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, and all across the United States. He enjoyed travelling, coaching and attending his children’s and grandchildren’s youth sports teams events, and was an avid golfer and country music aficionado. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, June Elizabeth Manning; his children Douglas, James and Jack; and his grandchildren Katelyn, Hannah, Luke, Ryan and Abigail. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, and by his grandson Christopher.
