Donald P. Velli, Jr. passed away peacefully on Nov. 30, 2017 after a long illness at the age of 54.

Mr. Velli was born on Feb. 23, 1963 in Dundalk, Maryland to Donald and Domenica Velli (née Guglielmetti). After graduating from Patterson High School, Donald received an Associates Degree in Media Technology from Dundalk Community College. He has held media and IT positions at the Enoch Pratt Free Library, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and College Park (UMCP) campuses. He later attended UMBC as a student majoring in Information Systems Management and Media and Communications Studies.

He was a very talented singer/songwriter/guitarist for local Baltimore bands such as The Noise Patrol and The Richards, among others. He was a creator of games, a visual artist, and masterful AV/computer problem solver. He achieved a black belt in martial arts.

He will be most remembered as a devoted husband, loving uncle, and loyal brother and friend who lived every second of life with love and passion for everyone he met. His nieces will take with them the memories of an uncle who looked forward to serenading them on his guitar with his favorite Beatles songs, as well as pushing them in their Barbie Big Wheels. His nephews will remember him as an uncle willing to share his wisdom in computers and games. They will all remember their Uncle Don as a loving man who was never too busy for a hug or a laugh.

Donald is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susan (née Augsburger); his father, Donald P. Velli, Sr.; his brother, Joseph Velli (Marsha); his sister, Donna Andreasik (John); his nephews, Brenton, Adam and Sam; and nieces Lily and Maddy. He was preceded in death by his mother.
