Edwin “Ed” Michael Lewis, a long-time resident of Ellicott City, Maryland passed away on April 13, 2019.
Ed was born at the Naval Station in Patuxent River, Maryland but grew up in Marshfield, Massachusetts.
His plan for a life in ice hockey was changed to an interest in chemistry after an injury in high school. Ed started at North Adams State College (now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts) then graduated with a BS from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences.
A fellowship at the University of Maryland brought him to Baltimore where he received an MS in Pharmacy Administration, Policy and Regulatory Affairs. Later he received an MBA from Johns Hopkins. Ed specialized in Home Infusion Therapy and spent many years as an entrepreneur.
He is survived by his mother Ann Wesner Lewis, his son Joseph Adam Lewis, daughter-in-law Ashley D. Lewis, and grandson Joseph Quaid Lewis; also, his fiancée Maria DiGuardo and his brothers Thomas, Terrance, and Steven Lewis.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife Karen of almost 30 years and his son, Michael. Also, his father, Joseph Edwin Lewis and his brother Mark Lewis.
Ed was a quiet, smart, kind, and compassionate man who worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He loved music, especially when he could attend a performance by his son Joseph, the beach, and family reunions on Cape Cod.
