Gladys Moody Obituary

Moody, Gladys Verna entered Heaven on March 15th at 12:44pm surrounded by family and friends. Gladys was born (8/29/27) and grew up in Stafford Township, NJ, where she lived until 2016. She met and later married Larry on her 20th birthday while he was stationed in nearby Fort Dix NJ. Gladys was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as book keeper for Larry Moody Painting, Inc.
Known as a gentle spirit with a commitment to serving others, Gladys would attribute her life-well-lived to a radical change on February 7th, 1954, when she began a personal relationship with God through Jesus. For more than 60 years Gladys and Larry began their day by reading Our Daily Bread devotional. Over those six plus decades she and husband Larry were deeply involved at Manahawkin Baptist Church, Bayside Chapel and Impact Community Church. She loved singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School, Pioneer Girls, women’s ministry programs, and the many discipleship groups she ran with Larry.

Gladys is survived by sisters Livy Adams (Harry) and Helen Toole (Richard), brother John Sprague, her son Larry Jr. (Ruth) and daughter Cyndy Lucas (Jim), her 6 grandchildren: Joshua Moody (Rhonda), Daniel, Rebecca Parypanski (Nick), Deborah Urrutia (Kris), Erin Lucas and Joel Lucas; and her 7 great grandchildren: Nathan, Alex, Jason and Sam Moody, Kirsten, Ryan and Logan Parypanski.
