Jacqueline Gell, known to friends as Jackie, passed away peacefully January 15, 2019 at the age of 94.
Jackie was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. She met the love of her life, Elton Gell, while working as an administrative assist to his brother. They married after a 6 month engagement on November 9, 1946. Jackie and Elton had four children and lived in Missouri until 1960 when they moved to Baltimore, MD. Jackie was primarily a stay at home mom, however, her passion for learning led her to become a successful part time salesperson for World Book Encyclopedia.
Jackie was an avid Bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs. She sang in the church choir and enjoyed reading her Bible. For many years she worked on developing a game called “Cover Ten” about the Ten Commandments which she eventually had copyrighted. Jackie also enjoyed listening to music and dancing to the sounds of the Big Bands with her husband and her sons.
Sadly, dementia would take away her ability to play bridge, read her bible or work on her game, but not her love for dance and music. Whenever the music started, you could be sure she was moving to the beat.
Jackie is survived by son Stephen and his wife Pea, son Mark and his wife Lori and daughter Tara and her husband Richard Adlesic; daughter-in-law Kathryn; seven grandchildren, Shawn, Jennifer, Andrew, Emily, Tanner, Taylor and Tristen; and four great grandchildren (Aubrey, Gavin, Jackson and Oliver). She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Elton and her eldest son Tommy.
Interment will be private for family.
