Joseph Thomas Fetcho, 87, of Ellicott City (formerly of Severna Park), passed away Sunday, March 11, surrounded by family, at Gilchrist Center in Columbia. Following his service in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific, Joe founded Circular Advertising Company, now known as CAC Direct Marketing Services, in 1957. The company remains in the family today, and has added an affiliated company, Atlantic Data & Records Management, in Halethorpe.
Joe was a graduate of the University of Baltimore. He was an active member of the Greater Baltimore Postal Customer Council (GBPCC), having served in several capacities as a board member, including service on the national board. He is an inductee of the Greater Baltimore Postal Customer Council Hall of Fame. In 2015, Joe was honored with an award established in his name, the Baltimore Joe Fetcho Pioneer Award, acknowledging his standing as one of the first members of the GBPCC as well as the national organization. He was commended by the GBPCC for decades of service to the organization, his company, his clients, family and friends.
Joe was the son of the late Clare Williams Fetcho and John Walter Fetcho of Childs, PA. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Margaret Fetcho; his devoted wife of 57 years, Patricia Richards Fetcho; and beloved son, Paul Joseph Fetcho; two brothers, Arthur Fetcho and Walter Fetcho; two sisters, Delores Fetcho Clark and Mary Clare Fetcho Sears. Joe is survived by his loving children, son John (Susan) Fetcho; daughter-in-law Jennifer Harman Fetcho; son Mark (Elizabeth) Fetcho; daughter Annemarie (Jeffrey) Hoffman; and by grandchildren, Sarah Fetcho, Lily Fetcho, Daniel Fetcho, David Fetcho, Julia Hoffman, Emma Hoffman, and Margaret Fetcho. He is also survived by one sister, Roseann Carden; one sister-in-law, Mary Jane McGinnis; many beloved nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
