Kenneth Anton Augustin

Ken Augustin was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 14, 1935 to Anton and Blanche Augustin.  Ken attended St. Louis University Preparatory School in 1952 for high school. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis in 1956.  

Ken served in Korea from 1957 to 1958 as an Army First Lieutenant.  Upon finishing his military service, Ken worked for Westinghouse as an Industrial Engineer in Kansas City and then in Baltimore.  He continued his career with Westinghouse/CGR where he held numerous engineering and sales positions.  

While in Maryland, Ken met Ann Wetzstein and they were married in 1964.  He then went on to acquire an additional Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Johns Hopkins University.  Ken left CGR in 1985 and became a partner with Medical Imaging Services.  In 1996, Medical Imaging Services was acquired by Standard Medical where Ken was a Product Specialist.  

Ken retired in 2003 but kept busy in the commercial radiology industry by consulting for various companies.  He also enjoyed his retirement years by playing tennis, taking spinning classes, and volunteering with St. Paul’s Church in Ellicott City.

Ken most enjoyed spending time with his family.  He is survived by Ann, his wife of 54 years and his nine children and spouses; Kenneth, Stephen (Sherry), Thomas (Elizabeth), Michael (Laura), Elizabeth (Peter), Donald (Voula), William (Marci), Mary and Matthew (Christen), plus seven grandsons and six granddaughters.  

A viewing will be held at the Harry H. Witzke’s Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 28 from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm.  The address is 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul’s Church in Ellicott City, MD on Wednesday, August 29 at 11 am.
