Nina C. Geary

Nina C Geary passed away on January 2, 2019 at the age of 90.

Nina is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years Robert, children; Kevin Geary of Germantown, Wi, Karen Geary of Ellicott City, MD, grandchildren; Meghan Scheeler (Nick) of Milwaukee, WI, Patrick Geary of Madison, WI, and great grandchildren Garreth and Hildegarde Scheeler. She is survived by Sister in Law Cornelia Koster, nieces, nephews and many friends. Nina was born in 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Walter and Emmy Memmler.

Nina, a devoted Catholic, was active in her church communities as a Eucharistic Minister, Greeter and Lecter at St Paul’s Catholic Church in Ellicott City as well as St. Jude the Apostle in Atlanta, GA. Her numerous volunteer activities included Chaplain’s Assistant, Puppeteer, and Board Member for Northside Hospital Auxiliary, in Atlanta, for over twenty-five years. A proud breast cancer survivor she volunteered for the American Cancer Society, Reach to Recovery helping other women find strength to overcome adversity.

She was the quintessential, devoted and loving mother. Mom was……baker, cook, gardener, school volunteer, costume maker, nurse, and mender of hearts. She cherished her grandchildren and Little GG adored her great grandchildren.

Nina had great strength of spirit and the unique ability to make friends, ease others pain, and learn all about people.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 am on Tuesday, January 29th at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with a lunch reception to follow at Dohonoy Hall. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nina’s li¬¬fe.
