Peter R. Schuyler (“Pete”), age 82, passed away peacefully on May 1st, 2018 from complications of emphysema. He was born on August 5th, 1935 in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Frederick and Dorothy Schuyler. Pete, a graduate of Montclaire High School, obtained a bachelor degree in engineering physics from Lehigh University in 1957. He was a member of the ROTC program at Lehigh and later served for four years in the United States Air Force.
In 1963, upon completing his service, Pete began his career with the National Security Agency. He worked in the Research and Development Department where he received many awards over his 35-year career, including the Distinguished Service Award. Pete's hobbies included reading, boating, fishing, automotive/household repairs, and cooking. He also was fond of collecting the latest technological gadgets, storytelling, and grilling rare chuck steaks for his family.
Pete is survived by Patricia, his wife of 33 years; sons Terence, Daniel (Sharon), and Peter (Stephanie); daughter Kirsten Argueta (Raul); stepchildren Victoria Robinson and Timothy Dubbs (Missy); seven grandchildren; and sister Gretchen Lankenau.
