Sandra B. Aring

Sandy Aring (nee Bass) died on August 9, 2019, at her home in Catonsville in the company of her family.  She passed at the age of 65 after a long struggle with metastatic breast cancer.

Sandy, who grew up in the Baltimore area, graduated from Woodlawn High School and later from The University of Georgia, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Fine Arts.  Sandy was a devoted mother and spouse, and throughout most of her life she created artwork, including sketches, paintings, pottery, photography and poetry. She also had a career as an art teacher and a marketing representative.

Sandy is the daughter of the late Leonard and Estelle Bass.  She is survived by her husband of 40 years W. Wayne Aring, her sons Michael and Gregory, and her sister Nancy Bass.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Claudia Mayer/Tina Broccolino Cancer Resource Center in Columbia, Maryland.
