T. Michael McInnis
March 16, 1937 — June 25, 2019
T. Michael McInnis, power walker, accomplished traveler, scotch drinker and crossword junkie, died on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
He leaves behind his two girls, Kathleen (Buggy) Martens of Incline Village, NV and Connie (The Herk) Morreale of Phoenix, AZ. He taught them to appreciate classical music, drive a manual transmission, manage money wisely, and brave the Wild Mouse roller coaster in Ocean City, MD. He took great pride in taking them out to dinner and randomly gifting them "mad money."
Mike was known as a pretty "quirky" man and was especially OCD about picking up crumbs off the floor and eating his Frosted Flakes and Cheerios layered perfectly in the bowl EVERY MORNING FOR 40+ YEARS!!
Mike enjoyed his grandchildren and often bragged about the various ski trips he took them on. He will be fondly remembered by Anthony (Banana Head) Morreale of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Lauren (La-di-da) Clark of Georgetown TX, Ryan (The P-meister) Kaufman of Olney MD and Brenna (Boo) Kaufman of Del Ray, FL.
Mike had many friends but he especially enjoyed the company of Marge (My Angel) Duncan of Glen Burnie, MD. They were constant companions for well over a decade with his love being fueled by her constant supply of baked goodies.
He despised phonies, the Baltimore Orioles (which he also loved), squirrels, CNN, calamari and Vanna White. In reverse order. He particularly hated cold blustery weather and would have been pleased to know he made his final exit on a day that topped out at 84 degrees with calm winds.
He loved going to the Dancel Y, the Baltimore Orioles (which he also hated), milkshakes, walking around local lakes and meticulously keeping a routine. In that order. He particularly loved telling the same ten stories over and over and over and over again.
Because Mike loathed the idea of a fussy funeral, an informal memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home located at 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Dancel YMCA in Ellicott City. Finally, the family asks that in honor of Mike you wear a ball cap anytime you head out into cold, blustery weather. Mike wanted everyone to avoid unruly, windswept hair.
