It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Letow, a devoted husband, cherished father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a friend to all who knew him. Alan passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on November 7, 1935, Alan lived a life marked by integrity, generosity, and deep devotion to those he loved. He was a man of quiet strength, quick wit, and unwavering kindness—always ready with a warm smile or a helping hand.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lila Letow, his loving children Deborah Letow and Lawrence Letow (Wendy), and a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him endless pride and joy.
Alan and Lila enjoyed traveling and visited over 100 countries and all seven continents. Their travel highlight was an “Around the World” cruise that lasted 108 days.
A private graveside service will follow for immediate family.
In accordance with Jewish tradition, the family kindly requests no flowers. If you wish to honor Alan’s memory, donations may be made to Respite Retreats, a charity close to his heart:
Respite Retreats 6021 University Blvd., Suite #175 Ellicott City, MD 21043 http://www.respiteretreats.org/
A celebration of Alan’s life will be announced at a later date.
The Letow family deeply appreciates your love, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
