Alison Erin Bliss née Kelley (“Ali”), 35, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from complications related to a heart condition. Her mother, Shelva (“Shel”), and husband, Harrison were by her side. Ali was born on June 29, 1988, in Washington D.C. to Paul and Shel Kelley. Ali graduated from Atholton High School in 2006 and attended Hood College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 2010. It was also at Hood College that Ali met her future husband, Harrison, in 2009 and the two were married on September 18, 2016.
Following her college graduation, Ali worked in the event planning and marketing fields, including working for multiple years at the Howard County Economic Development Authority and, most recently, at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center. Ali also coached competitive cheerleading for a number of years at Maryland Allstars.
Ali loved her family, the beach, steamed crabs, and above all else her daughter, Meara. Ali was a kind soul and friend to all who was most happy surrounded by family and friends. She set an admirable example in her personal and professional life for all who knew her.
Ali is survived by her husband Harrison, daughter Meara, brother Paul (“PJ”) Kelley III, sister-in-law Katie, nephews Chase and Theodore, mother Shel Kelley, and many other loved aunts, uncles, cousins, family members, and friends. She is preceded by her father Paul Kelley, Jr., grandfathers Paul Kelley and Paul Myers, and grandmothers Elizabeth Kelley and Dorothy Myers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11:00 am at Saint Luke Lutheran Church located at 9100 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, Maryland 20910. A celebration of life will be held following this at Ten Oaks Ballroom located at 5000 Signal Bell Lane, Clarksville, Maryland 21029 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Attendees at the celebration of life are encouraged to dress in clothes most comfortable to them. Children are also welcome.
