Alyssa Scully Obituary

With cherished memories, we honor the life of Alyssa "Al" Rose Scully, blessing the world with their presence from March 12, 1993, until their passing on April 6, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland. Alyssa was born in Columbia, Maryland, and touched the lives of people throughout the world.

A proud graduate of Howard High School in Columbia, Alyssa's thirst for knowledge and passion for the arts led them to the University of Baltimore, where they earned their bachelor’s degree.

Alyssa was a great adventurer, courageous and independent. In their teenage years, they hiked the Appalachian Trail. Their love of the outdoors took them on solo adventures to Yosemite where Alyssa spent many years. They loved Glacier NP where they spent several summers making huckleberry pies and hiking majestic mountains. Professionally, Alyssa's warm and welcoming nature found a home in the travel industry, where they managed a vacation company with dedication.

Beyond their professional life, Alyssa was a true artisan. With nimble fingers and an imaginative mind, they brought color and texture to life, mastering the arts of painting, screen printing, sewing, felting, and embroidery. Their creations were not just crafted but lovingly imbued with their soul, each stitch a testament to their creative genius. As a fervent traveler, Alyssa traversed the globe, letting their passion for birdwatching take flight in the exotic landscapes of Viet Nam and Thailand. Those who knew Alyssa will fondly remember them as the embodiment of love, adventure, and creativity. Their radiant smile was a source of light and comfort, their laughter a melody that resonated in the hearts of their family, friends, and all who crossed her path.

Alyssa leaves behind a tapestry of relationships woven with the threads of unconditional love and cherished memories. Their story continues in the hearts of beloved father, Neal Scully, with his partner Sarah Lovelidge; devoted mother, Rose Wortman, with her partner Jeff Sealover; Joshua Huster, stepbrother; maternal grandmother Rose Greco; brother, Nevin Scully; adoring niece, Olivia Scully; and caring uncle John Scully, with his wife Hazel; stepmother Donna Cohen; stepsister Natalie Cohen; stepbrother Zachary Cohen. Her legacy lives on through the lives of her cousins Lauren, Erin, and Leah, whom they loved dearly and had a multitude of wonderful days with.

In the tranquility of afterglow, Alyssa's spirit will persist, fluttering in the gentle breeze, dancing in the rustle of leaves and echoing in the calls of the birds they so loved. Indeed, the world will remember Alyssa as a remarkable soul whose life's palette was a convergence of wonder, warmth, and unwavering affection.

Alyssa "Al" Rose Scully's journey was defined by the vivid colors spread in their art and the love they bestowed upon all their friends. They will be missed by all who knew this beautiful spirit.
