Ana Barnabe Obituary

Ana Maria Barnabe, wife of Dennis Barnabe, passed away following complications due to surgery on Saturday, April 19, 2025. She was the daughter of Maria and Antonio Rodrigues. Mrs. Barnabe was pre-deceased by her sister, Beatriz Bergeron.

Ana graduated from Cumberland high school (RI) with the class of 1979, Bryant College with the class of 1983 and obtained her Master’s Degree from Loyola University in Maryland in 1998. Additionally, she earned her Certified Public Accounting license in 2004.

Born in Portugal, she came to the United States at the age of 4. She grew up in Cumberland, RI, re-located with her husband to Maryland in 1984, and has resided in Ellicott City, MD, since 1989.

She continuously worked in the accounting profession since graduation, holding positions at Citibank, the Bryn Mawr school, and ultimately owned/operated a tax preparation and accounting business for 20 years. Giving back to the profession, she supported multiple organizations in volunteer roles along the way. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ana was a dedicated mother and wife, as family was always a priority. There was not a moment in life that she was not thinking about her family, friends, and strangers, alike.

She is survived by her mother, husband and daughters, Corinne Hogue, Allison Barnabe and Nicole Barnabe; her son-in-law, Michael Hogue and daughter-in-law Nadine Fox; and grandchildren Madelyn Hogue and Autumn Fox.  She is also survived by her fur-babies Charlie and Mickey and her grand-fur babies, Teddy, Guinness, Willow, Dublin, Ripper, Storm and Zero.

With Ana’s love of animals and extensive volunteer work, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Small Miracles Cat and Dog Rescue, 10236 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21042.
