Barbara Carol (Spain) Davis

Barbara Carol Spain Davis, age 87, of Ellicott City, MD, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2025, with family at her side at the Gilchrist Hospice in Columbia, MD.

Barbara was born to Delzie and Velma Mae Spain on May 20, 1937 in Henderson, TX.

After graduating from High School in 1955, Barbara worked at Tyler Pipe. She met Charles Davis in 1956. They wed in 1957, and had three sons, David, Steven, and James. The family moved from Texas to Maryland in 1965. After her sons were older, she began working at the nearby Social Security Administration in Woodlawn, MD. She worked there for 20 years before retirement. After retirement, Barbara enjoyed bird watching, traveling, spending time with family, and researching family genealogy. 

She is survived by her husband, Charles, three sons, David, Steven, and James, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sisters Louise Wade and Joan Hodkinson, brother-in-law John Hodkinson, and sister-in-law Dorothy Spain. Barbara was predeceased by her sister Doris Cheney, and brother James Luther (JL) Spain.
