Candice (Candi) Louise Hinebaugh, 72, of Elkridge, Maryland, loving wife of the late Donald (Don) Hinebaugh, passed away on December 9, 2025. After sustaining a leg injury in February, Candi worked steadily towards recovery but was ultimately overcome by an unrelated illness. She passed peacefully at the Lorien Columbia nursing home in the early morning.
Candi was born on June 16, 1953, in Albany, New York, to Wadsworth and Eleanor Roy. After graduating from Randallstown High School in 1971, she went on to study early childhood education at Catonsville Community College of Baltimore County, earning her Associate’s Degree. She also found time to travel, including a memorable trip to Europe. These years shaped her lifelong care for others and a naturally outgoing, compassionate approach to life.
On May 21, 1982, Candi married Don, and together they raised three children, Sarah, Amanda, and Garrett. They shared 40 years of marriage before Don’s passing.
Candi found joy through weekly bingo games with a close circle of friends she fondly referred to as “the girls”. Those friendships meant a great deal to her, providing genuine companionship. She also remained close with friends from her youth, who remained a treasured part of her life. Candi cherished time spent with her young grandchildren and found comfort in her quiet mornings and evenings with her son.
Candi delighted in her growing M&M’s collection, watching Ravens football, and attending performances at Toby’s Dinner Theatre. Though her mobility became limited in later years, with the support of her family, Candi was able to travel to Louisiana, Alaska, and South Dakota. She adored seeing new places and experiencing things she never imagined, and often shared her excitement and wonder at the sights she encountered.
Candi is survived by siblings Skip Roy (Brenda) and Cindy Roy (Larry), and children Sarah Swift (Yancy), Amanda Blakslee (Craig), Garrett Hinebaugh, and Tambra Stevens. She is a beloved grandmother (Nana) to grandchildren Joshua Stevens, along with Carter, Clark, and Amelia Blakslee. Candi was predeceased by her husband, Don Hinebaugh.
To honor her memory, we welcome flowers sent to Elkridge Baptist Church or donations made in her name to her favorite charity, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
