Candy Noonan Obituary

Candy Motley Noonan, 73, of Ellicott City, MD, died in a tragic car accident on Wednesday evening, May 5, 2021, on I-95 in Howard County.

Candy was born on February 25, 1948, to Alonza Berkley Motley and Agnes Harris Motley in Washington, D.C. After graduating high school, she went on to study at Salisbury University, majoring in education.

After college, Candy continued her career in fashion modeling for various department stores and other businesses. Candy’s modeling career led to meeting Patrick Wade Noonan Jr., who became her future husband. Candy and Patrick had their first child on September 18, 1978, a daughter, Berkeley Anne. Their second child was born on February 7, 1983, a son Patrick Wade and their final child on July 31, 1984, another son Josh William. After the birth of her special needs son Josh, Candy decided to become a daycare provider so she could always be there for him.

Candy was always kindhearted and wanting to help others in need. Candy took care of her sick father until he passed, and after the death of her husband almost twenty years ago, Candy lived with and helped take care of her sister and best friend, Paddy. Through it all, she was always there for her children, especially Josh, who doctors said would never progress past the capabilities of a six-month-old. Yet, Candy persevered, and Josh is now a fine young man living a life that gives untold joy to others.

Candy is survived by her three children, Berkeley, Patrick, Josh, brother Alonza “Bucky” Motley, sister Patricia “Paddy” Motley, grandson Patrick Wade Cole, many other family members, daycare “kids,” and parents, as well as countless friends.
