Carl William Schick passed away January 24, 2021. He was 91. Carl was born July 16, 1929 in Nutley, NJ to Karl and Emeline (Stoltz) Schick. After graduating high school and taking a few college classes, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served as a helicopter crew chief during the Korean War. After the war he went to work for Beneficial Finance Corporation, first in New Jersey and then transferring to Kansas City, MO. He was promoted to Field Supervisor and moved to Baltimore in the mid 1960’s to manage the Maryland region. Carl retired from Beneficial after a successful 41-year career.
For thirty years he could be found most weekends at Turf Valley Country Club playing 18 holes and buying a few rounds at the clubhouse. He and Joan were the quintessential “snowbirds”, splitting their time during retirement between Ellicott City and Naples, Florida, where they had a condo on the golf course overlooking the water hazard and the resident gator.
Carl is survived by his wife of 61 years Joan, daughters Joanne and Lisa, granddaughters Amber, Marissa and Claudia, grandson Steven as well as nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter Stephanie, son Carl Jr., his parents and siblings.
“It is not goodbye; it’s until we meet again.”
