Carolyn Celeste Ostlie, 79, of Columbia, MD, passed away on September 23, 2021 after a brief illness.
Carolyn was born on March 29, 1942 to Adolph and Irene Wisniewski in South Bend, IN. After graduating from St. Joseph’s High School in 1960, she went on to study music with a concentration in voice at St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN. In 1970 she met Randolph J. Ostlie and they wed in 1971, moving to the Washington metropolitan area shortly after.
Carolyn was an avid cook, baker, and singer. She sung with several musical organizations, including the Laurel Oratorio Society and the St. Louis Church Choir, the latter of which she was with for 40 years. She was known for her singing versatility, often performing solos and performing as cantor for masses.
She is survived by her husband Randolph, sister Cynthia Coleman and brother-in-law David Coleman, daughter Erika Wieske and son-in law Mark Wieske, daughter Kristin Ostlie and son-in-law David Asbury, son Kevin Ostlie and daughter-in-law Joanna Seich, and beloved grandchildren Jack Ostlie and Charlotte Ostlie.
Family will receive friends at the Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home, 4112 Old Columbia Pike on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Louis Church, Clarksville on Friday, October 1, 2021 beginning at 11 AM. Interment following in Saint Louis Cemetery.
