Carolyn Woodie Obituary

On August 1st, 2019, her 55th wedding anniversary, Carolyn Louise Woodie (nee Lippy), joined her Savior in heaven. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Paul E. Woodie Jr., daughter, Joanne Carol Pasquarelli, and son, Daniel Paul Woodie (his wife Heather), and brothers Bruce Lippy and Doug Lippy. She also has seven grandchildren, Luke, Joel, and Anna Pasquarelli, and Ethan, Rebecca, Isaac, and Joshua Woodie.

Carolyn was born in Baltimore, MD on November 16th, 1944 to H. Leonard and E. Pearl Lippy. Graduating in 1962 from Dulaney High School in Lutherville, MD, she briefly attended Towson State College before marrying her husband in 1964. She worked in various business support roles until staying home to raise her kids, returning to work outside the home in 1979. Ever the entrepreneur, she started her own computer services business in 1983, which grew into computer software training in WordPerfect software including writing several software manuals. This work led to her being one of the first 100 Certified Technical Trainers in the U.S. She also co-founded the Entrepreneurs’ Exchange in Annapolis, MD in 1985, a business owner’s peer group that is still running strong.

From a young age, Carolyn had a deep faith in Jesus Christ as her personal savior, meeting her husband Paul at a Youth for Christ event in Annapolis. She was very active in the churches she attended, leading bible studies in her early years, and co-leading a GriefShare support group for 14 years.

The family will be hosting visiting hours at the Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home at 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD on Thursday, August 8th from 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM.
