Charles Phillips, Jr. Obituary

Charles Allan Phillips, Jr., age 63 of Woodbine, Maryland passed away on September 6, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born September 25, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland, he lived a life filled with tremendous passion and service to others. He married his wife, Kimberly Ann (Hoffman) Phillips, in 1983.

Chuck attended CCBC and the University of Maryland where he studied business and engineering while also working full time. Most of his career was at KCI Technologies, Inc. a multi-disciplinary engineering firm, where he retired as Executive Vice President and Site/Facilities Market Manager after nearly 40 years. The community was very important to him and therefore served on many boards throughout Howard County and Baltimore; to include Howard County Chamber of Commerce, Howard County Economic Development Authority, Howard County Public Schools, Howard County Community College, University of Maryland, National Aquarium, and Project PLASE, an advocacy group that serves the homeless population in Baltimore. In his free time, Chuck enjoyed time with his family, being part of the praise band at his church, buying, selling and driving cars, saltwater fish, playing music with friends, golfing and traveling.

Chuck was predeceased by his father, Charles A. Phillips Sr., survived by his mother Ruth Joyce Phillips-Kane, sister Diana Devlin, and brother James Phillips. He is also survived by his two children Ashley Kinniry and husband Jimmy, and Casey Phillips and wife Niki. He was lovingly known as Diddy to his five grandchildren, twins Tess & Kenley, Claude, Charli and Scotti.
