Charles Scheller Obituary

CHARLES EUGENE (GENE) SCHELLER, husband of Janet H. Scheller (nee Leyh), passed away peacefully on October 7, 2022 at the Lutheran Villages of Millers Grant in Ellicott City, MD at the age of 83.

He was the son of Charles Ernest Scheller and Mary Scheller of Baltimore, MD, now deceased. He is survived by two brothers, Ronald Scheller (Kass) and Wayne Scheller (Judy).  He was predeceased by siblings Ernest Scheller, Robert Scheller (Marge) and Mary Lynn Scheller.

Charles graduated from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1957 and went on to become a Master Electrician, employed by Singleton Electric Company in Washington DC, for over 30 years.

After retiring in 1998 Charles enjoyed gardening, golfing, traveling with his wife and attending his grandchildren’s numerous school and sporting events.

He is survived by a son, Charles Michael Scheller, and daughter-in-law, Debbie Scheller, as well as a daughter, Diane Katherine Ward and son-in-law Gregory J. Ward; grandchildren Christopher M. Scheller (Rebecca), Amanda N. Rivera (Carlos), Eric T. Scheller (Kaitlin), Alise Scheller and Heather Ward.

Friends are welcome to call and meet family members at Harry H. Witzke’s Family Funeral Home, 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043, on October 12th from 3-5pm and 7-9pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at Harry H. Witzke’s Family Funeral Home on Thursday, October 13th at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
