David Charles Condron was born on April 1, 1951 in Scranton, PA to Joseph Charles Condron and Margaret Ann Condron (nee Williams). He departed this life on May 11, 2024 at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
David, the eldest of five children, graduated from Scranton Central High School in Scranton, PA. He then graduated from Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmittsburg, MD with a degree in accounting and with many lifelong friends. He then worked for Stegman and Company in Baltimore, MD as a Certified Public Accountant, and was moved to their Columbia, MD office where he became a partner. He eventually became a founding partner in PCA Associates and continued to work as a CPA in Columbia, MD until his retirement from DCCM and Associates.
He married Patricia Condron (nee Kosnik) on June 28, 1980 at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Baltimore, MD and raised his family in Ellicott City. He was a loving father to his three children, Sara Keller, Michael Condron, and Mary Condron, a wonderful father-in-law to Michael Keller, and a much-loved Granddad to Sean and Benjamin Keller.
He was a long-time Orioles and Ravens fan, and enjoyed taking his family to Ravens games where he had season tickets. He also enjoyed fishing and boating at his second home in Ocean City, MD. He was an excellent cook and his family looked forward to his weekend dinners.
He was a dedicated volunteer for Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center for 30 years, where he volunteered on the finance committee and became its chair, and then became the Treasurer of the Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center Board. He guided financial decisions for the hospital for over 30 years, including becoming part of Johns Hopkins Medicine and aiding in the campaign for a new Emergency Department. He also established a process for capital requests where clinical staff could explain the need directly to the Board. He continued to volunteer for the Johns Hopkins Medicine Audit Committee until his death.
David was preceded by death by his mother Margaret Ann Condron, father Joseph Charles Condron, stepmother Betsy Bell Condron, brother James Condron, sister Deborah Hoffman, and brothers-in-law Delbert Keisling, Harry Ross, and Edward Kosnik, also John Carroll. He is survived by his wife Patricia Kosnik Condron; sister Carol Keisling; brother Mark Condron; stepsisters Sally Van Why and Betsy 'Binky' Carroll; sisters-in-law Maria Condron, Frances Alderson, Sally Kosnik, Susan Ross, Mary Teresa 'Terri' Grace, and Betsy Shade; brothers-in-law Harold John Hoffman, Norman Van Why, George Alderson, George 'Tom' Grace, and David Shade; children Sara Keller, Michael Condron, and Mary Condron; son-in-law Michael Keller; grandchildren Sean Keller and Benjamin Keller; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 6-8pm at HARRY H. WITZKE'S FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Thursday at 11am at Church of the Resurrection Chapel in Ellicott City, MD. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Ellicott City, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to Howard County Special Olympics, Mount St. Mary’s University School of Health Professions, and the St. Vincent de Paul Resurrection-St. Paul Conference.
