David Allen Myrtue, a kind and gentle soul, passed away on April 16, 2026, to join his father and brother in Heaven. A lifelong Marylander, David spent the majority of his 61 years on his family farm in Woodstock, where he found peace on the front porch swing, communing with nature and the wildlife around him.
Known for his deep love of family, food, and music, David enjoyed everything from classic rock to classical compositions. He was a familiar and beloved face at Family Care AL.and the Winter Growth Day Program, where he spent his days engaged in arts, crafts, and his favorite pastime, Bingo. His vibrant artwork and "cherished wins" were a source of great pride and a reflection of his happy spirit.
He is survived by his mother, Pauline Myrtue; sisters Susanne Myrtue (Carlton Hawes), Marianne Myrtue-Bogan (Shane), and Julianne Dunn (Stephen). He also leaves behind his nephews, Michael (Chelsea) and Aaron (Alyssa); niece Allison; great-nephew Axel; great-niece Eva; and a large extended family of cousins across Maryland, Minnesota, and Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Myrtue, and his brother, Robert L. Myrtue.
