Dawn Marie Fischer

Dawn Marie Fischer, 56, of Ellicott City passed away on June 17, 2020 at Gilchrist Hospice Care in Towson.  She was born on July 28, 1963 to Jayne Marie Ross and the late Paul Gwynne Fischer, Sr. at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore. 

Dawn grew up in Morrell Park and moved to Ellicott City as a teenager. In 1981, she graduated from Mt. Hebron High School.  She lived  in Ocean City, MD until 2002 . There she had a boat cleaning business and worked as a waitress. 

In 2002, Dawn had a stroke, which confined her to a wheelchair.  After almost 10 years spent in a nursing home, Dawn moved to her own apartment with the help of her dedicated healthcare aids. The last 6 months were spent at Howard County Hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital and Gilchrist Hospice Care. 

Prior to her stroke, Dawn enjoyed water skiing, board games, travel, shopping and the beach in Ocean City.  Dawn was a long-time member of Bethany Baptist Church in Columbia, MD.

In addition to her mother,  she is survived by her brother Paul G. Fischer, Jr.  

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, proper social distancing and facial coverings are mandatory for those wishing to attend Dawn's memorial service at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, July 28 @ 10am.
