Obituary of Diana Maria (Rizzo) Krausman
May 20, 1952 – February 22, 2026
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Diana Krausman, age 73, on Sunday, February 22, 2026, after a relatively brief battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was the only child of the late Maria Clara (Bertetti) Rizzo, who emigrated from Italy, and the late Angelo Blase Rizzo. Diana grew up in Baltimore’s Little Italy neighborhood and graduated from The Institute of Notre Dame High School.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John Anthony Krausman, of Ellicott City, MD, with whom she shared 47 cherished years of marriage. Known affectionately as Diane to family and friends, she was a devoted stay-at-home mother and worked as an administrative assistant for many years. Diane loved playing the piano, hosting large Italian dinners for family and friends, spending time at the Ocean City, MD beach, and dreaming of one more cruise.
She was the proud mother of one son, Paul Anthony Krausman, of Rochester, NY. Diane devoted countless hours volunteering at the schools Paul attended while growing up and supporting his soccer teams as the family traveled across the country for tournaments. Paul’s four-year-old daughter, Chiara Hope Krausman, brought her great joy, especially in being called “Nonni” by her beloved granddaughter.
Through her marriage to John, Diana also gained two bonus children—Mark Edward Krausman of Hanover, PA, and Russell Anthony Krausman of Woodbine, MD—whom she lovingly helped guide from their teenage years into adulthood. This brought six additional bonus grandchildren—Ava, Brooke, Connor, Dennis, Lance, and Sarah—as well as two cherished great-grandchildren, Annika and Stanley.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
