Reverend Donald R Bachman, Jr passed away peacefully on July 6th, 2026, 5 days before his 79th birthday. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Edie, his son, Jamie and his family (Tiffany, Amelia, Max), his daughter, Kristin and her family (Kursat, Isabel, Elise) and his sister Joan Swenson and her family (Bryan, Amber, Jared, Erik). He was preceded in death by his parents (Rev Donald Sr and Wilda) and his brother (David).
Born in Peoria Illinois to Reverend Donald Sr and Wilda Bachman, he studied at his beloved Celina (OH) High School, Luther (IA) College and Wartburg (IA) Seminary.
Don dedicated his life’s work to serving the Lord at Lutheran congregations throughout Ohio, positively impacting the lives of so many in Akron, Thornville, Greenville and Circleville through times of great joy and sorrow.
Don will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, friend and pastor. He will be missed.
In lieu and of flowers, the family suggests support for the important research of Dr. Amy DeZern at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the loving ministry of First Lutheran Church in Ellicott City, MD.
