Dorothy Carroll Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy “Dee Dee” Slobey Carroll on December 3, 2025, at the age of 75. Dorothy passed peacefully in the company of loved ones.

Dorothy was born January 3, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio. Dorothy graduated from Shaker Heights Highschool (1968), she then went on to study at University of Missouri.

With her B.A in Psychology, Dorothy migrated to Maryland. Dorothy began working as a Vocational Counselor. Through her work she became a liaison for the Therapeutic Horsemanship Program, where she would meet the love of her life; Patrick Terrance Carroll.

Together, Dorothy and Patrick had three amazing children; Sean, Lauren, and Brian. Lauren was clearly her favorite (Lauren also wrote this).

Dorothy held many careers in her life but enjoyed teaching Special Education the most. She was extremely social and very compassionate, “adopting” many of her children’s friends and some of her coworkers.

Dorothy never knew how to be sad and never wanted to be mourned, only remembered fondly. She simply just used up the last of her 9 lives.

Dorothy enjoyed playing card games, traveling, Gilmore Girls, and getting caught up on the freshest gossip. Dorothy had a great sense of humor.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Elizabeth Slobey.

Survived by: Husband- Patrick Terrance Carroll, Children- Sean (Steph), Brian (Adaleen), and Lauren Carroll, Brother- Jay Slobey, Sister/Cousin- Susie Lamprecht, Her Sister in Laws- Sharon, Abby, Tessy, and Linda, Brother in Laws- Bruce and Dean, Mother in Law- Lucille Carroll, Many nieces and nephews, and a whole lot of friends.

In lieu of flowers, Dorothy would appreciate donations to local food banks and support to families in need.
