Dorothy Jean Main Kelly of Baltimore Maryland passed away peacefully in Mars Hill, North Carolina on September 23, 2024. She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse of 67 years, Francis X. (Frank) Kelly.
Born in Baltimore Maryland on October 19, 1933, Dot was interested in local politics and service. She served for several years on the Howard County Board of Elections. She was an active supporter and volunteer for numerous charitable organizations including Little Sisters of the Poor. Prior to her move to North Carolina, she was active at the Elkridge, Maryland Senior Center. She was a voracious reader and crossword puzzle aficionado with a strong interest in history.
Dot is survived by daughter Carol Stewart (Michael), of Marshall, NC, son Joseph Kelly (Rachel) of Ellicott City MD, and daughter Kathleen MacMillan of Baltimore MD; six grandsons Patrick Stewart (Aleah), Christopher Stewart, Daniel Kelly, J.X. MacMillan, Matthew Kelly and Benjamin Kelly; one great-granddaughter Ryder Stewart; sisters-in-law Joan Kelly and Patricia Kelly - as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Pullin (William) and brother Maurice Main (June) as well as her uncle Herman Wildt (Unks) and in-laws Catherine (Audwin), Martin (Agnes), William (Alice), Michael, Marguerite (James), Eleanor, and Paul (Betty).
Visitation will be held at Harry H. Witzke’s Family Funeral Home, 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2-5 p.m.
A graveside service and inurnment will take place October 28, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2150 Mount View Road, Marriottsville MD.
