Dorothy Wilson Obituary

Dorothy Wilson of Ellicott City died on 9/16/2022. She was 93. 

Dorothy was born on October 14, 1928 in Oella, Maryland to Asbury Cross and Jane Eyler Cross. 

She grew up in Oella and often walked or rode the trolley up Nine Mile Hill to school. She worked for W.J. Dickey Mills as a Loom Operator, where her father was a Mill Foreman. Dorothy then went on to work for General Electric, Westinghouse and Stanley Magic Door. 

She was married to her husband, Loring J. Wilson Sr., for 56 years and were married at Oella Methodist Episcopal Church on February 14, 1948. She has been a member of Bethany United Methodist Church since November 2006. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Loring "Whitey" Wilson in 2004, her sister, Helen Daniels, and her brother, Raymond Cross. 

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Gale Wilson of Sykesville, and her daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Doug Oberholzer of Woodstock, Maryland. 

Dorothy had eight (8) grandchildren and thirteen (13) great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Dorothy's name to Bethany United Methodist Church at 2875 Bethany Lane, Ellicott City, MD 21042.
