Edriess Windesheim Obituary

Edriess Rose Windesheim, lovingly known as Eydie, peacefully passed from this life on April 12, 2026, in Columbia, Maryland, and entered the eternal care of her Lord and Savior after a life marked by faith, courage, and devotion to others.

Born in Cumberland, Maryland, Eydie carried the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life. She was a woman of warmth, strength, and grace, and she lived in a way that reflected Christ's love. Her life was a testimony to perseverance, kindness, and the power of a faithful heart. Those who knew her will remember a woman who was loving, kind, and adventurous, and who met each season of life with determination and hope.

Eydie was a devoted wife to Bruce Windesheim, Sr., and a proud and loving mother to Bruce Windesheim, Jr. and Rob Windesheim. She cherished her six grandchildren, Aspen, Jackson, Jagger, Bobby, Gabby, and Nate, and found great joy in the blessing of family. She was one of eleven siblings and is survived by Ethel, Grace, Charles, Bob, Delores, Nora, and Jeannie.

In her professional life, Eydie was an accomplished sales leader who helped pioneer the transformation of office supply sales in the late 1980s. She helped shape her field and did so with the confidence of someone who knew that true excellence is built through determination and perseverance.

Eydie loved her flowers and her garden. She cherished the time spent with her family, whether during large family gatherings, watching her beloved Orioles, or soaking up the sun on the Chesapeake Bay or in Ocean City, Maryland.

Eydie was the kind of person who could lift a room with her presence and steady a heart with her words. She lived with an awareness that this world is not our final home. She understood that faith is not only spoken, but lived in daily choices, in how we love, how we serve, and how we endure.

We are reminded that the measure of a life is not found in its length alone, but in its love, its witness, and its impact. Her life calls us to live with purpose, to love without hesitation, and to trust God in every season. As the Apostle Paul wrote, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” from 2 Timothy 4:7. Those words reflect the spirit of a life well lived and a soul now at rest in the promise of God.

Eydie will be remembered with deep affection and lasting gratitude by all who were blessed to know her. Though she has departed, her influence remains, and her memory will continue to encourage those who follow her. May her loved ones find comfort in the assurance that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and may they be strengthened by the hope of reunion in His presence.

A celebration of life service will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 2-4 PM ET at Harry Witzke’s Funeral Home in Ellicott City, MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The University of Maryland, R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, who are saving lives every day!
