Elinor W. Wells, wife of late William F. Wells, died in her sleep on Saturday morning, April 24, 2021 at the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, MD. She was the daughter of Otho Winfred Wilson and Edna May Shockley of Snow Hill, MD, now deceased, and sister of Esther P. Habbart, Edward H. Wilson, and Margaret W. Wright also deceased. Elinor graduated from the University of Maryland School of Nursing in 1946 and practiced at Lutheran Hospital and University of Maryland Hospital. She met her husband, William Wells, was married in 1947, and enjoyed 72 years of marriage with him until he died in 2019. After the birth of her first son she left nursing for several years. She returned to nursing with the Howard County school system in a program designed to serve underprivileged children. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling to visit their children and to explore many foreign countries. She is survived by three children: Richard W. Wells (Robin), Paul W. Wells (Cynthia) and Gwendolyn C. Zagore (Wells) (Robert); seven grandchildren: Courtney Fusco, Andrew Wells, Leslie Huetter, Chris Zagore, Katie Watford, Elise Wheelock, and Faith Zagore and two great grandchildren: Harrison Zagore and Colbie Huetter.
