Elizabeth Pemsel Obituary

Elizabeth Louise Pemsel, wife of the late Ernst Robert Pemsel died surrounded by her loving family on July 30th, 2025, at Alongside Assisted Living Home in Ellicott City, Maryland.

She was the daughter of George McFee and Patrica LeGourd McFee of Baltimore, Maryland now deceased. She is survived by one sister, Carol Lightcap. She was predeceased by siblings George McFee, Mary Sima and Neal McFee, and Patrica Mitchell.

Elizabeth Pemsel, known as Betty, graduated from Catonsville High School. After graduating she was employed by the Social Security Administration for seven years. She retired soon after that to raise three daughters. Many years later she entered the workforce again working at Hutzler’s department store in Catonsville for eight years and then worked as a receptionist at a dental office until she retired at age 63 to spend time with her husband who had already retired.

Time spent with her family brought Betty much happiness. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and to all her extended family. Many wonderful memories were made during family get togethers. Betty had many pleasures in life, some of those included watching the Ravens, exercising at her gym almost daily until the age of 90. Another favorite pass time that she enjoyed was putting together jigsaw puzzles.

Betty was a long-time member of the Church of the Resurrection; she enjoyed volunteering at the fish Friday dinners during Lent and attending weekly Rosary and Novena services for over 14 years. She was very devoted to Jesus and the Blessed Mother

Betty is survived by daughter Deborah Maggio, son-in-law Vincent Maggio Jr., daughter Pamela Klickna – Powell, son-in-law Crouse Powell and daughter Sandra Boyd and son-in- law Christopher Boyd, grandchildren Jason Klickna, Melissa Kozimor, Jessica Yared, Brian Maggio, Brooke Guare, Kelsey Reddy and Scott Boyd.
