Elizabeth "Betty" Noble Obituary

Elizabeth Marie Noble “Betty” of Columbia , MD passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021. Betty celebrated her sixty sixth birthday recently with her entire family. The eldest of six sisters, Betty lived her life with joy, compassion and courage even as she fought terminal cancer. Her kindness, calmness, and compassion came through in all of Betty's many roles throughout her life.

She is survived by five loving sisters and their spouses: Patricia and Alan Golia of Ocean, NJ, Catherine and Frank Colucci of Iselin, NJ, Barbara and Michael Sack of Lee, NH, Anne M. Noble of Buffalo, NY, and Beth and Paul Tykodi of Dover, NH. Aunt Betty will be greatly missed by her nine nieces and nephews who she adored; Jennifer and Alan Golia, Michael, Robert, and Kristen Sack, Alex and Thomas Walker, and Jack and Margaret Tykodi; 4 great nieces and nephew, Olivia, Ava, and Ella Sack , Winter and Oliver Golia.

Betty was predeceased by her loving parents Robert and Loretta Noble and was born in Hartford, CT and raised in Marblehead, MA. She grew up with a love of sports, becoming an avid athlete who enjoyed basketball, softball and running, completing at least two marathons. Betty was a spiritual person who was inspired by reading, writing, walking her beloved Cash, being outside in the sun, reading and writing.

Betty was a graduate of Bishop Fenwick HS, Salem State University, and Notre Dame University of Maryland, and was a Certified Integral Coach. Her professional career culminated with a recent appointment as the Acting Dean of Business and Computer Systems at Howard County Community College (HCC). For many years prior, Betty mentored students and junior faculty as Professor of Entrepreneurial and Coaching Studies and Chair of the Center for Entrepreneurial and Business Excellence at HCC. In addition, Betty maintained her own business where she coached individuals and organizations, and in her own words, did her “best work one on one….helping people to bring out their often hidden potential”.

Betty’s passing will be grieved by all who knew and loved her. We will be inspired by her courageous spirit and our many memories. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Betty’s memory be made to Howard Community College Education Foundation, Community Action Council Howard County , Leadership Howard County or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
