Elizabeth "Sue" Davis Obituary

Elizabeth Susan Davis, known affectionately as Sue to her friends and family, embarked on her final adventure on November 26, 2024, after a short but fierce battle with cancer. Born on October 10, 1951, in the heart of Baltimore City, MD, Sue's zest for life and infectious laughter began spreading joy from the very start.

Sue was the kind of person who could find the funny in the mundane, the silver lining in every cloud, and a reason to smile even on Mondays. She carried this light-hearted spirit through her journey from Baltimore to Ellicott City, MD, where she took her final bow surrounded by love.

Before she hung up her teaching hat, Sue earned a Bachelor's in Education, which she put to excellent use by shaping the minds of preschoolers. Her classroom was where finger paints met life lessons, and every storytime was an epic adventure. Sue's legacy lives on in the countless children who left her class knowing the alphabet and the importance of a good belly laugh.

Though her beloved husband, Jim Davis, had taken his own curtain call before her, surely awaited with a twinkle in his eye to resume their duet of chuckles and cheer in the hereafter. Sue is survived by her brothers, Randy and Terry Hesse, who will miss her quick wit and loving heart.

Her nieces, Katherine Hesse (partner-in-crime to Adam Wilkins) and Rachel Hesse (co-conspirator with Matthew Johnson), will cherish the memories of their aunt's loving guidance and laughter. Sue's great-nephews, Aidan and William Hesse-Johnson, will no doubt inherit her sense of humor and her ability to light up a room.

Sue also leaves behind a stepdaughter, Ellen Scullen, and two step-granddaughters, Camille Stadel, and Christine Scullen, who have each inherited wonderful memories and love from their grandmother.

As we bid farewell to Sue, let's honor her legacy by living life with a chuckle, embracing each day with open arms, and never forgetting that the best way to measure a life is not in years, but in the number of times we leave the world a little brighter than we found it. Sue, you did just that, and for that, we thank you. As Sue would say "Behave yourself"!
