Emily Katharine Scott died peacefully at her home in Ellicott City on Monday, May 23, 2022.

The eldest daughter of Greg and Judith Scott, Emily was born October 5, 1996.

She was educated in Howard County Public Schools, attending Pointer’s Run, Longfellow, and Waverly elementary schools as well as Burleigh Manor Middle School and Centennial High School, where she was an active member of Best Buddies.

For the last several years, Emily attended a day program at the Athelas Institute in Columbia.

Known for her infectious smile, tireless determination, and effusive enthusiasm, Emily touched and inspired many.

She is survived by her parents; siblings, Lauren and Evan Scott; and grandparents, Katharine and Andrew Wardlaw of Columbia, John and Margarita Contreni of Greenville, ME, and Emma Jean Scott of Palm Harbor, FL.

Family will receive friends at the Harry H. Witzke’s Family Funeral home on Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life from 5:30-6:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at St. John's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Athelas Institute.
