Enid Strusser Berman
May 1, 1940 – April 2, 2025
Enid was born on May 1, 1940 in Jersey City NJ to Freda and Max Strusser.
She spent her early childhood in Brooklyn, a town she loved.
The family moved to Miami Beach in 1951 and Enid graduated from Miami Beach High School in 1958.
She married Mel Berman on August 9, 1959 and they were married for 54 years until his death in 2014.
The family lived in various locations until they settled in Davie, FL. In 1978 Enid and Mel founded B/A Products Co. Enid was instrumental in helping to grow the company, combing through phone books from across the country, collecting names and addresses of towing companies to solicit as customers.
As the business grew, they relocated the business and family to Columbia, MD, near Mel’s hometown of Washington DC. She stepped away from the business and pursued some volunteer opportunities with the Montgomery County library system among others. She eventually started a book reselling business with her sister Audrey and then with two of her daughters.
Her favorite place to be was at their Maryland home, feeding and entertaining her children, grandchildren and extended family around their pool. She loved our family pool parties, crab feasts and holiday celebrations. Enid and Mel acquired a winter home first in Coral Springs and then in Tamarac, FL where they again enjoyed visits from their daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren.
Upon Mel’s passing, she resided solely in Maryland.
Enid was predeceased by her sister, Audrey Strusser Hyman.
Enid is survived by her three daughters and their husbands: Lori and Chip Kauffman, Kim and Ray Goldstein, Patti and Fritz Dahlin; eight grandchildren: Holly (Goldstein) Stone, Mathew Dahlin, Michael Goldstein, Andrew Goldstein, Jake Dahlin, Bradley Goldstein, Timothy Dahlin, Emily Goldstein and 5 great grandchildren: Camden Stone, Cason Stone, Cole Stone, Reagan Dahlin and Lane Dahlin.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to St Jude Children’s,Research Hospital, a charity that was close to her heart. (www.stjude.org)
