Eric Hupfer Obituary

Eric George Hupfer, born January 23, 1974, passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2026. His family and friends pray he finds peace with the Lord, our God in heaven. Eric was a beloved son, brother, cousin, uncle, friend and father to his children Aubrey (18) and Gavin (17). He connected with innumerable people through his gregarious and outgoing personality. Eric’s loyal friendship to Craig, Charlie, Chip, Dan, Bryan and many others through the University of Notre Dame (Maryland Club) and Father’s Follies at Notre Dame Prep was unwavering.

Eric spent his childhood in Ellicott City, MD with his parents Lee and George, and sister Lee Ann. Eric attended Mount Saint Joseph High School and graduated in 1991. As a kid and into his adult life, he was an avid lacrosse player. He then earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of Notre Dame in 1995. Following in his mother’s footsteps, he pursued a career in accounting, earning his CPA at the very young age of 22. Eric went to graduate school at the prestigious Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland where he earned a double masters MBA and MS at the same time, another achievement that so few accomplish. During Eric’s career, he earned many prestigious positions with Earnest and Young, Constellation Energy, and recently had the title of Comptroller at DC Dental.

Eric enjoyed spending time in Ocean City, Maryland with friends and family, he loved Bloody Mary’s with the old bay rim and watching the Raven’s game on Sundays. His strong work ethic and intelligence was present in his everyday life. Eric was able to give advice whenever needed. Whether it was doing a favor for a friend, helping out a neighbor, or doing acts of kindness for a stranger, Eric was a good Samaritan. He was a loving father who was devoted to his kids and supported them through life’s challenges. Some of his best memories with his children were golfing, skiing at Whisp, and the family’s recent trip to the Bahama’s. Eric’s biggest wish for his children was a great foundation in higher education and to live a beautiful and happy life.

Eric lived a life surrounded by people who love and care for him, filled with many wonderful memories, and he was grateful for it.
