Ret. Major Ernest Baxter Miller, Jr., died peacefully in his sleep on Monday morning, May 13, 2024 at his home in Halethorpe, Maryland. He was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife, Carmencita Bisnar Miller.
He was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and is the son of Ernest Baxter Miller, Sr. and Margaret Banks of Jacksonville, FL, both of whom are now deceased. He is survived by one brother, Robert Thomas Miller.
Ernest Miller earned his undergraduate degree from Morgan State University, obtained his masters, and then served twenty years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Major.
He was most recently employed at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL, having previously been employed with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Fort Totten, NY Drug Enforcement Division. He was also employed as a teacher at several schools throughout Maryland.
He is survived by his daughters, Magaret Miller, Eleanor Hunt and son-in-law Daniel Hunt, and his sons, Ernest B. Miller, III and Martin C. Miller, Sr. and daughter-in-law Karla Miller; grandchildren Austin Miller, Martin C. Miller, Jr., Adam Hunt, Haley (Luca) Hunt, Kayla Morrow and Tony Miller.
