Frank Louis Dell’Acqua, 80, of Columbia, Maryland passed away on September 21, 2020. He was born at home in Baltimore October 4, 1939, the youngest child of Sicilian immigrants Luciano Dell’Acqua and Angela Onorato Dell’Acqua. It was the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi so he was named Frank (Francis) Louis Dell’Acqua.
Frank grew up in Overlea, Maryland and attended St. Michael the Archangel School and Towson Catholic High School. He continued his studies at the University of Maryland College Park, and the University of Maryland School of Law. He worked as an attorney for the Department of Health and Human Services in Woodlawn and Washington,D.C. and retired after 30 years of service.
Frank always loved movies, TV, reading books and newspapers, especially mysteries. He was a lifelong Orioles fan, rooted for the Baltimore Colts and was an inaugural season ticket holder for the Ravens. He also supported the University of Maryland sports teams and Washington Capitals hockey. He cheered for his teams and sometimes yelled at them on TV.
Frank was a parishioner of the Church of the Resurrection for 44 years and served as a Minister of Holy Communion for over 35 years.
Frank is survived by his wife of 56 years Jeanne Jackson Dell’Acqua, his son Mark L. Dell’Acqua , daughter-in-law Ilene Dell’Acqua, son Steven Anthony Dell’Acqua, daughter-in-law Vasiliki (Valli) Dell’Acqua and his grandchildren Jacob, Alex and Elisa Dell’Acqua. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Angela and Luciano, sisters Mary McGuire, Connie Furlong and Rose Konstantas and brothers Joseph Dell’Acqua, Anthony Dell’Acqua, and Samuel Dell’Acqua.
