Fred S. Jones

Fred S. Jones was born on February 4, 1930  in Nottingham, PA. and lived most of his adult life in Rising Sun, MD. He passed quietly on April 25, 2023. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  

Fred was the son of the late Lewis and Myrtle (Grason) Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Doris Montgomery Jones, daughters Ruth Anne Endo and Kathleen Miller, son David Michael Jones and wife Lauren, daughter-in-law Susan Uhlan Jones, Grandchildren Jenny Huff Cone (Steve), Amy Huff, Nathan Huff (Wendy), Kristin Lindgren-Smyth (Rose), Kelsey Miller, Elizabeth Jones (Sean Eckert), Jennifer Jones (Ricky Truitt), Garrett Jones, Great-Grandchildren Tanner Cone, Naomi Lindgren-Smyth and Isabella, Ariella, McKella and Gabriella Truitt plus numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was proceeded in death by his son John who passed in 2016, his siblings, Alice Rentfrow, Violet Montgomery, Steven, Everett, Atwood, Lester and Clifford Jones as well as his son-in-law Nori Endo.

Fred retired from the Maintenance Department, Chrysler MOPAR Parts Division, Newark, DE. He served as treasurer of Troop 92 BSA. Fred loved working in his yard and took pride in his flower and vegetable gardens. Fred was deeply devoted to his family and his happiest times were spent with them.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, May 5th from 12pm-1pm at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel in Catonsville, MD. A Funeral Service will immediately follow the visitation at the Chapel at 1pm.

Interment will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2 pm at Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 81 Central Ave., Ocean View, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cecil County Animal Services.
