It is with great sadness that the family of Frederick Louis James “Fred” announces his unexpected passing on Friday May 11, 2018 at the age of 55. Fred will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Laura James and his children, Timothy Kraft, Michelle Kraft and Jacquelyn James. Fred will also be remembered by his mother Doris James, his brother Raymond James, his sister Debra Curtiss and his brother-in-law Curt Curtiss. Fred was predeceased by his father Karl Kenneth James.
A graduate of West Springfield High School, Fred started working for Bell Atlantic/Verizon in 1981 where he worked for 33 years. He served as an union steward and an officer of the CWA Local 2222.
Fred was a devoted husband, father and an avid sailor. He enjoyed spending time with his extended family. He was devoted to his friends, many of which he was still close to from Middle and High School.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00am on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Church of the Resurrection in Ellicott City, MD with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Fred’s life. Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 16, 2018 from 2:00–4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at Harry H. Witzke’s Funeral Home located at 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, Md. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Harry H. Witzke’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Heart Association.
