Gary Robinson Obituary

On April 12, 2023, Gary St. Aubyn Robinson’s soul transitioned from this earthly realm to the spiritual one. Although he never caught a cold, for the past year he had been fighting doggedly against a rare form of cancer. He fiercely clung to life even in immense physical pain, because he was stubborn, always late, and didn’t trust anyone to take care of his two young sons, Aidan and Kieran, whom he loved more than anything else in this world. In the end, he passed peacefully with his mother at his bedside.

Gary was grateful for the love and support for his family and friends, of which he had too many to count. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Vanderhoff and their two sons of Ellicott City, MD; mother Sylvia Fraser Green of Columbia, MD; father Carlton Robinson and stepmother Moy Robinson, of Kingston, Jamaica; brothers Sean (Roberta) Robinson of Columbia, MD, and Farouk Robinson and Gyan (Shawna) Robinson, both of Kingston, Jamaica; sister Keisha Green of Parkville, MD; numerous nieces and nephews; and all 5 million members of the St. George’s College Old Boys’ Association.

Born on July 19, 1964, in Kingston, Jamaica, Gary graduated from St. George’s College and attended University of the West Indies – Mona before immigrating to the United States in 1985. He graduated from The Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Information Systems and enjoyed a long career in cybersecurity.

Gary will be forever remembered for his optimism, easy laugh, and generous spirit. He was a devoted husband and father and a loyal friend.
