Geneviève Agatha Mary Donovan Gibson died June 5, 2020 at age of 97, at Gilchrist Respite Care, Baltimore County Maryland of COVID-19. She previously resided at her home Rockywoods in Dayton for seventy years, lately with caregivers. Genevieve, a Canadian “Sugar Maple” woman, became a true Southern Bell affectionately called “Miss Gibby” by many friends and co-workers. She is survived by four nieces, one nephew, and numerous cousins in Canada, Rochester New York, South Carolina, Michigan, Florida and Texas; a godchild, Meghan lives in Virginia. Geneviève is predeceased by her loving husband Oscar Lee “Chick” Gibson, parents M. Patrick Donovan and Mabel Marshall Donovan, her brother Gerald, sisters Sheila and Joan, and Aunts, Mary, A. Claire, Veronica, Eileen and Gertrude. Born on November 15, 1922 on Sunnyside Avenue, Ottawa Canada, she married her beloved Oscar “Chick” Gibson on September 15, 1945, in Halethorpe, Maryland. She truly enjoyed her life’s work at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory from May 1964 to May 1987 as an Administrative Assistant to the head of the Fluid Dynamics Research Group.
