Gilbert Eugene Russo

Gilbert Eugene Russo, affectionately known as Gil, passed away at home on March 21, 2025, in Columbia, Maryland, at the age of 95. Born on August 19, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Gil graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and had a long career as an Electrical Engineer at Westinghouse.

Beyond his professional and military life in the Army, Gil was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Pearl (Santorum) Russo, Mt Airy, Md, his daughters, Ann (Kevin Corcoran), Palm Coast, FL, Lori, Mt Airy, MD, Lynn (Dwyer Awalt), Ellicott City, MD, Marnie (Gregory Paplauckas), Mt Airy, MD, and sons, Mark (Stephanie), Cleves, OH, and Jason (Lisa) Fredrick, MD. His legacy also continues through his 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Bea Russo.

Gil was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Bella (Belehrad), brother Richard, and son Craig.

 He enjoyed working on cars, and in his later years, spending time with his children and many grand and great-grand children.
