Helen Coaplin of Ellicott City, Maryland, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank.
Helen was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Lanham, Maryland. She worked for the US Fish and Wildlife Service Patuxent Research Center for 35 years, and she lived in Laurel, Maryland for 57 years where she raised her children and volunteered within the community. She loved baseball, especially the Baltimore Orioles. She enjoyed traveling the country visiting major league baseball stadiums. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards with her friends, doing crafts and completing word search puzzles. She had three children, Tony (Kim) Coaplin, Danny (Sue) Coaplin and Kathy (Don) Sabatini. She is predeceased by her husband, Frank, her parents, Jerry and Anna, her sister Margaret, and her brother, Jerry. She is survived by her children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Visitation will be held at The Church of the Resurrection Chapel in Ellicott City, Maryland from 10:30 am -11:30 am followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 am on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Internment will be at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, Maryland at 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
