On March 25, 2026, Helen Jane Harford of Ellicott City, MD, devoted wife of the late William B. Harford; cherished mother of Jane Harford, Nancy Harford (Andrew), Woody Harford, (Suni), and Richard (Jennifer); beloved grandmother to 10 grandchildren: Shawn, (Savannah), Alexander, (Monica), Robert, (Samantha), Devon, Jenna, Liam, Ryan, Kathryn, William and Thomas, and 2 great grandsons: Jack and Kiran.
Helen was born June 12, 1931, to Anna and William Kollar, and spent her formative years in New Jersey. She met her husband Bill while they both worked in New York City and married in 1957. Their happy journey took them first to Massachusetts and then to Mayland in 1969, where she resided until her death. She was known for her ability to make anyone feel like a friend, and for her joie de vivre. She was an accomplished cook and loved to entertain and travel. Bill and Helen spent many happy winters in Naples FL, where they golfed and enjoyed the company of dear friends. The last 10 years she enjoyed meeting new friends and renewing older friendships at Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant. Nothing made Helen happier than being in touch with her grandchildren and sharing their lives.
The family thanks the devoted staff at Millers Grant Assisted Living who lovingly cared for Helen.
